CUTROOM 2.0 · IN-HOUSE TOOL · IN DEVELOPMENT
← All workThe AI proposes the cut.
You keep the final say.
CutRoom is a local video editor for long YouTube episodes. An AI director proposes changes to a revisioned edit plan; you review them on a multitrack timeline, fix what is wrong and deliver the master. I built it with Claude, for my own channel, Mínimamente Informado.

01 / HOW IT WORKS
From the raw cut to the master.
Three steps, the same ones the app shows at the top of the screen. Every change goes through the plan, so nothing is lost and every change has an author.
- 01
Prepare
Start from the cut made in CapCut. CutRoom transcribes it, finds the cuts and marks every moment the presenter looks away from the camera.
- 02
Assemble with AI
An AI director proposes operations on the edit plan: move, trim, split, delete, insert, edit and replace. Each batch becomes a new revision with undo, tagged with who made it: you, the assistant, the director or an agent.
- 03
Review and deliver
Live checks flag what still needs a human: look-aways left uncovered, shots that break the 8-second rule, repeated clips. Then export a two-minute sample or the master, with music, effects, a mix at −14 LUFS and a quality gate. Each delivery is a new version.
02 / WHERE CLAUDE FITS
A model for the director.
Tools for the agents.
Claude is one of the providers CutRoom can use for its four AI roles (director, assistant, writer and critic), through the Anthropic API or through Claude Code.
Agents can drive it too: an MCP server exposes seven tools to check status, find videos, create an episode, follow its progress, continue it, deliver it and open it. It only talks to CutRoom on this machine and publishes nothing without permission.
Next: run the director on the Claude API across full episodes and measure how many of its proposals survive my review.
CutRoom also works with other providers, including local models. Anthropic does not endorse this project.
